Pls respond & tell all what you think of the class having a 'cruise' adventure together, maybe early 2015, give or take a few months. Good idea? Have any preferences for duration, in days, of the cruise? Preferences for destination and point of departure? Know where we can best find good, economical group rates?
I think that a reunion cruise would be awesome! Logically for the majority of our classmates , a nearby port would be good. 4 days...or if not too many can get away for 4 days, then a 3 day would be fun, too! Has any one contaced a travel agent to help with what ship goes out of what port? Do we have a classmate who is a travel agent???
I'm all for a cruise anywhere! We've been on lots of different cruises and haven't been disappointed with any! I've always wanted to do the 'Mississippi Cruise', but not sure it would be suitable for everybody.
Carol and I find this idea exciting and will participate. While it will be nice to have a large number of classmates on a cruise, I hope we will proceed even if the number is small. Having a few restive days at sea with former classmates will enable us all to have quality time to catch up, and while we will definitely renew old friendships, we will certainly make some new ones. Count on us to go!!!
I'm definitely in! I have been on many cruises and thus feel that I know most of the plusses and minusses. I would enjoy serving on the Cruise Subcommittee.
Sounds like a great idea. I have been on several cruises recently. I would suggest that it be 7 days, as the time involved in getting to the departure place, the red tape involved in boarding and leaving would not make it worthwhile otherwise. Usually you board the ship late the first day and leave in the AM on the departure day, for example. That kills two days right there. Also, if we visit foreign ports eg Caribbean islands, we would have to go through US customs and the other country's customs and have to have passports. This all makes for more delays and red tape.
